Road traffic Twyford collision
Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision that took place yesterday (31/7) on the B3018 Waltham Road, Twyford.
At around 9.05am a Honda CBR 900 Fireblade motorcycle was travelling from Twyford in the direction of Binfield when it was involved in a collision with a silver coloured Honda Accord travelling in the opposite direction. The incident occurred outside The Dolphin School.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 32-year-old man, was airlifted by Berkshire Air Ambulance to Wexham Park Hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda Accord, a 67-year-old man, was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital where he received treatment for bruising and shock. He was discharged three hours later.
The B3018 Waltham Road was closed for three and a half hours so that a thorough investigation could be carried out.
PC Steve Huison, of Three Mile Cross Roads Policing base, said: “I would ask that anyone who may have seen either vehicle in the lead up to the collision or witnessed the collision itself, to get in contact with me.”
