Whilst we are often referred to as The Service Charity, our priority is people: people who choose a life in the Services, whether Regular or Volunteer Reserve, both while they are serving and after they have left. Our commitment is to support them with the practical and emotional help when they find themselves in need. Helping families and dependants is a major part of our work but we are equally committed to helping single people. All that is required is 24 hours paid service in one of the services and proof of need for anyone to qualify for assistance.
We pledge to respect people's dignity, to treat them in a compassionate, impartial way and to deal in confidence with any information entrusted to our volunteers. Whilst people's needs vary, it is SSAFA Forces Help's commitment to approach each problem with the same consideration. We estimate that one quarter of the UK's population is eligible for our help.
